JUMP OVER THAT SLIDE TACKLE

To avoid those dreaded slide tackles, push the ball forward right before you see the tackle coming.  You want to keep it far enough in front of you the tackler cannot reach it, but close enough a defender doesn't steal the ball away from you! 

Then leap over the tackler’s outstretched leg.

Before you know it you'll be heading down the field towards your next goal!


KEEPERS - MAKE THE CATCH!

Always make sure that you get your hands behind the ball.

When catching a ball that is head high, your hands should form a “W” (thumbs together and fingers spread and you should be able to see the ball through the little triangle window.

Be sure to keep your eyes on  the ball at all times!




RESPECT YOUR REFEREES

The referee is part of the game, just like the field, the spectators, the coaches and the players.  They are both sides - they just want to ref a fair game.  

But everybody makes mistakes.  Referees may not always be correct, but all players must show the proper respect to the men and women in black.

Arguing will never get a referee to change his or her mind, it will only get you in trouble. 

Show respect and your coaches will take care of talking to the refs.
